Had class yesterday and did well. Other dogs were apparently having trouble running through the tunnel, but I did not have any problem. Kind of like the tunnel at the park I run through all the time. Dan was very proud of me.

Anne-Gi and Dan were not home today. And Dan did not put my collar on, so I ran around naked all day. Well, I really slept a lot of the time and only really ran around naked when Anne-Gi came home and we played ball on the grass.

Had dinner and Anne-Gi gave me some apples. Very yummy. Am now watching TV and waiting for animals to show up so that I can bark at them.

It has been a good day.

Swam lots today

Went swimming today. There were other dogs at the park, but I was not allowed to play with them. But Anne-Gi brought the cheese out and I prefer food to play any time. So it was OK. Walked around a bit afterwards and then came home. Just got up from my nap, but too bad it's not dinnertime yet.

Wow! I have a blog!

The idea of me having a blog came up when I was hanging out at a local brewery this afternoon. My people, Dan and Anne-Gi, were there with my friend, Gizmo, and his people, Vince and Yuka. We have just got back to Issaquah after a nice hike up to Rattlesnake Ledge and were waiting for the food and drinks to arrive when Dan came up with the idea that I should have a blog. Anne-Gi got all excited about it, so here I am.

Since I can't read or type, Anne-Gi is doing the blogging for me. Anne-Gi lets me call her my mama, but Dan said that my dad is in California, so I just call him Dan (even though Anne-Gi refers to him as my dad sometimes when he is not around). As far as I am concerned, they are my people and they treat me like their kid and that is good enough for me. I have only seen my real mum once since I left the breeder's and although I was told I got my play behavior from her, I don't really remember her anymore.

It has been a busy summer for me. Anne-Gi has really got into hiking and exploring the local trails recently, so I have accompanied her on many hikes over the last few months when she had days off during the week. On the weekends, Dan would come as well and occasionally, they would invite our friends to come along. I know Dan does not feel comfortable that Anne-Gi goes hiking 'on her own' during the week, but she feels safe when I am on the trail with her. Honestly, I don't know what I would be able to do should anything happen, but at least I know I can scare bad guys off. I like those quiet hikes when there are hardly anyone else around because I know Anne-Gi is much more relaxed about me being off-leash on the trail and it makes for a much more enjoyable hike for me!

Besides hiking, I went camping for the first time this year. We went to Manning Provincial Park in B.C. with a whole bunch of friends - canine and human friends. I had a lot of fun and I think I even lost some weight while I was there! I swam, hike and rode in the kayak. We did so much for 3-1/2 days that I was dead tired by the end of each day when everyone was sitting by the campfire eating marshmallows. I love the swimming and hiking, but I am not too keen on the kayaking. I had to wear a life vest and stay really still in the boat... I would much rather swim and play in the water without the vest! But it entertained my people, so I put up with it. Besides, I was so tired from all the other activities by the time they put me in the boat that I could really care less!

Just before we went camping, I started going to class again. I am now in a beginner's obedience competition class once a week where I have to learn a few new things and practise older commands I already know. Anne-Gi is the one doing the handling and she has been quite flustered with all the new commands and jargons. But I think I did OK and I love getting all that cheese when we are there! Everyone else there has been doing it all for longer than we have, but I think we will catch up in no time.

Well, the blogging thing is really tiring, espeically after a hike on a hot day. I think I will go back to napping now since I don't think it is dinner time yet. And from what I gather, we might be spending time outdoors again tomorrow with some other friends.
